Blog Notification
filed in Blog Stuff, How To, Mac on Aug.14, 2009
I really enjoy these things called “blogs”. I like them so much I told Google (Google reader) to help me read them all in one place. Well that works good and all but for some reason i just cant bring my self to click the the Google Reader link in my bookmarks. I guess that’s just too much work for me. I mean first i have to click on the bookmark, next i have look at the feeds and see what i want to read, then most of the time i have to go the original post to see the comments for that post. I don’t know about you…. but that just seems like too much work just to read a simple blog post. “I’m Just Saying”
So Here Is What I Want.
I want some kind of notification service that will let me know when my favorite blog (lifehacker.com) or my best friends blog has been updated…I want to be notified in some simple way such as email, instant message, or if im crazy via TXT Message. Is that too much to ask? Anyhow i’m having trouble finding this type of service to satisfy that need.
A Solution For Now (Windows or OS X)
I found the Following app that sits on my Mac’s menu bar and checks for new posts from my from Google reader every “x” amount of minutes. This app has some options that you can play with and for the most part does what i want, however I don’t want to install anything on my computer. I want it to be a web service that i can subscribe to.
If any of you know of such a service please let me know about it. That would be swell =D
If you’re interested in this app. You can grab it here: Windows Version and the Mac Version
