The Googles has me. Today I did a Google search on my name and the top 4 results are all me. Its kinda scary. I know I have somewhat of a unique name… but still.

The good news is that all the information that the Googles has on me is all information that I can change or control in some way. I guess this a good thing  that I have taken “control” of my online identity. But I really don’t know…. I’m just saying stuff.

A few Saturdays ago  (5/1/2010) was Free Comic Book Day. It’s a day when all the participating comic book shops across the nation give out free comic books to anybody thats willing to come down and get them. Free Comic Book Day is the first Saturday in May.

This is the first time the kids and I have ever been to a Free Comic Book Day. This fine event took place at my local comic book shop (four color fantasies). They had comic book characters walking around taking pictures with everybody, comic book artists and inkers signing things and giving away free on the spot drawings of pretty much anything you wanted, Free hot dogs, nachos, free face painting, and a bounce house.

Zach and Syd got to spend some time in the bounce house, then they got their faces panted. Zach went with spiderman. Syd got a butterfly (what else would she get?). The kids also got free movie posters 5 comic books each and other nick nacks.

Lastly I had one of the artists sketch out Zach and Syd (see the images above). He charged just 5 bucks each.

All in all it was a wonderful time and it only cost me 10 bucks that i didn’t need to spend. If you have kids I would encourage you to take  your kids out next May for the awesome Free Comic Book Day!

Today a mile stone has been reached! my son Zach can passed his very first video game. he has spend a quite a few weekends on and off playing Kung Fu Panda on my xbox 360. every time getting a bit further in the game. well tonight he has completed all levels and has beaten Tai Lung (last Boss)!

i could not believe it… he is only 6 years old. I’m pretty sure i didn’t pass any games until i was like 15 years old. anyhow as a recreational gamer dad. i am happy to see zach start a game and finish on his own steam!

The following are from this weeks top FML that i wanted to share:

Today, I got a red light camera ticket for $100 in the mail. After checking the date and time, I realized it was from when I was rear ended into the intersection while STOPPED at a red light. FML

Today, I fainted on the sidewalk. When I woke up, I was still lying on the sidewalk, people were stepping over me and my purse was gone. FML

I “drew” this last year when zach and I were drawing stuff together. I found it the other day and thought it be a wonderful thing to subject you to. So there.  I think I got the “squaryness” of my head pretty good.

Here is a question for the dudes and maybe even the dudettes (you never know)

When you relieve you selves at a urinal… how do you aim to minimize the sprinkles?

Why this question is being asked:

I have been using urinals since I was in kindergarten and nobody ever told me of a magic way to use these urinals without getting any sprinkles on your pants, shirt, or shoes.

Now I’m taking a big risk right here. I just admitted that I can’t control my stream enough to not get any sprinkles back on me. so I want to assume that you have the very same problem and you are not saying anything about to keep yourself feeling cool…like you are in control of the sprinkles and they don’t ever hit you….ever! Don’t lie!

Just tell me the secret way that you use to minimize the sprinkles.

I’ve noticed a common thread about personal blogs…. the comments seem to be pretty slim.

Blogger: You the author of a blog and you feel that nobody is really reading/caring about what you are saying. You want that small connection to keep on typing. You want to know that somebody is there and that your words aren’t getting lost in the vast nothingness of the internet.

Reader: You are a frequent reader of personal blogs and you enjoy reading them, yet you don’t comment. You don’t feel like you have to… you don’t feel like your comment is even worth typing and you are happy just to read what’s there and you move on.

Solution? Every time a blogger asks “are you there?” the audience seems to always respond: “I’m here”

What I am going to do about it: I’m going to ask you questions and I hope that you answer them. I’ll start off my asking the men how they use a urinal.

The good thing about it was that Zach seemed to like it quite a bit even though he had to fumble around to do what the other kids were doing. I have always been uneasy with “play fighting” with Zach. I don’t want him to “play fight” with the other kids at school or church and hurt somebody unintentionally.

Now that he is in MMA, I want to make sure Zach only uses his new powers for good and not evil!

Thanks to the Internet i found out how to calculate the cost to drive someplace such as work. The tile of this post would be true if i was driving our new (old) Expedition back and forth from home to work.  Here is the Calculation that i used:

Miles driven divided by MPG = Gallons used.

Gallons used multiplied by price per gallon = Total price spent for miles driven.

Total cost divided into total miles = Cost per mile.

Last week was the final weigh in and I came in 3rd place. I lost a total of 25 pounds and 9.9% of my total body weight in 8 weeks. Mark ended up losing 28 pounds and 11.2% of total body weight. So he was the biggest loser! Congratulations!

As it turns out I’m in for another 2 months of weight loss madness! This time around I’m actually doing some “workin out” (more on that later!)

Sydney did pretty well for her first time. No crying, no “where is mommy”, Just a wave “Hi” to Kelly and I.

Here is the funny part: in the “Preview” Section there is an icon of a CRT Monitor with the infamous “Blue Screen of Death” on the screen.

Ohhhh…those silly kids over at Apple. If you don’t get why this is funny to me then it’s better for the both of us for you to just move on to the next blog post.
